Week 6!

This week we have  looked at story boarding in greater detail. I leant what to include when producing my story board and how to set out my work. We also looked at the theory of Equilibrium and Disequilibrium. This theory was developed by Toderov.  We also looked at Propp's theory - Vladmir propp. Propp used Russian Folkstales as the baises for his theory but can be applied to all types of fiction.
After that we then looked at all different sorts of characters. the different types of characters are:

  • Protagonist - the person who leads the narrative.
  • Antagonist - gets in the way of the protagonist.
  • Heroine/Princess - usually some sort of prize or reward.
  • Farther - An authority figure who usually gives an award.
  • Helper - usually a sidekick who helps the hero
  • Donor - gives the hero something, normally a clue.

We then looked at Levi-Strauss binary oppositions. This is wear two things work against each other. For example; good V's evil, Light V's dark, justice V's injustice, Law V's order, outside V's inside, male V's female, hero V's villain, adult V's child. An example of adults working against the children is in the TV series Outnumbered.

After this we then moved on to planning out opening sequence and discussed in out group who are going to take on what roles. During this week we also finished off out mood board in out media class room.
