During this week I have learnt more ways to improve my filming. We looked at hoes piping and camera shake and started to film 10 second camera shots with in our groups. We shot the different types of shots you can have and rotated the different roles involved in filming.
This week we also looked at Language of film and Television. We took a look at all the different main elements to filming such as Narrative, cinematography, Mise en scene, sound and editing. We looked in further detail at these main elements.
Cinematography is the use of the camera, for example angles and shots, and then the framing.
Mise en scene is everything on the screen, this includes costumes, lighting, location, props and characters.
When looking at sound I learnt that there was two different types, Diegetic and Non-diegetic. For example diegetic sound would be a car revving and non-diegetic sound is when someone is talking or music is being played.
Editing takes place during post production and it is important that we look at great detail at continuity editing when editing our footage.
Also we looked at different techniques such as, eye line match, shot reverse shot and match on action.
I enjoyed learning about this because it is important that we understand what we will be doing in order to produce an opening to a film of the best of our ability.
